Logline:
For 50 years a rogue art tycoon stole Cambodias heritage and sold
it to global billionaires and elite museums. Today the villagers forced to
do his dirty-work are bringing their Gods home.
The Vancouver-based film company New Theory Pictures focuses on international stories from the worlds of art and culture. We are in production of an art crime feature documentary that takes viewers from the remote jungles of Cambodia to the elite salons of the one percent. Its the complex story of an international criminal network that orchestrated a cultural genocide amid a brutal civil war.
LOOT is filmed across Cambodia and in Bangkok, New York, London, and other cities. Principal photography will be largely complete by February 3, and we are turning attention to the edit.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will be based on the Southcoast of British Columbia and will be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. Heres what we hope you bring to the table:
Experience crafting compelling and emotional narratives
The ability to organize a story told in approximately 90 minutes, with a 54-minute cut down also prepared
Technical competence, in particular working with Adobe Premiere
The ability to work with a wide range of footage, including 30 days of original film and archival content from many sources
Experience implementing notes from a diverse array of team members - in this case people in Asia, Europe and the United States.
Experience working in the true crime genre is an asset as we want to give this film a fast-paced investigative feel.
SCHEDULE
We are planning to prepare a 10-minute greatest hits reel featuring our most compelling footage by March 15. The feature edit will be largely completed during March and April. Hiring will happen by February 25.
