Come join our amazing team! Yukon Berry Farms owns and operates two haskap berry farms and a winery/cidery in Whitehorse, YT. Both farms are surrounded by the pristine beauty and landscape of the Yukon, located on the Yukon River and the Takhini River. The winery/cidery is located in the Mt. Sima industrial area. We are seeking to fulfill a position(s) for a Farm Worker and Winery Assistant. The ideal candidate(s) is energetic and positive, with a love for being outdoors, nurturing a relationship with the land, and caring for plants. Conditions of working outside at the farms can vary between hot, sunny days to cooler, rainy ones. Other conditions of the work may include medium-heavy lifting, prolonged periods of bending/standing/walking, and requiring attention to detail. You will be working with a team of staff members, so working well in a group environment and good communication skills are essential. General farm-related activities include: irrigating, fertilizing, mowing, weeding, planting, and harvesting. Operating farm machinery and equipment. General winery-related activities include: creating wine/cider, bottling wine, canning cider, labelling bottles, lab work, cleaning/sanitation, and juicing berries. Operating winery machinery and equipment. This is a full-time position starting around May 1, 2023, and lasting until approximately September 1, 2023 (possibly longer). Typical working hours are Monday to Friday, and hours/location may vary. We can be flexible regarding shifts. We do ask that the successful candidate be present and available during the harvest season, which typically takes place over the month of August. Preference will be given to post-secondary students and recent university graduates. No previous farm or winery experience is required. Because this position involves working with alcohol, preference will be given to candidates 19+ years old. Strong candidates younger than 19 years old can be considered for a Farm Worker position only. Having a driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and a vehicle is recommended, as you would be responsible for commuting to the farms (located about 20 minutes north of Whitehorse).
