Job Description

Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

Work site environment

Beef cattle ranching and farming, including feedlots Chicken farming Livestock

Tasks

Clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens and other work areas Direct farm feed inventory activities Direct farm grooming activities Handling animals Marking livestock as proof of ownership Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed Maintain livestock performance records Maintain quality control and production records Select livestock for sale Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment Perform general farm duties
