At our Desil-Eggs farm in Dalkeith, we house more than 100,000 laying hens in a modern, automated egg collection system. In the coming years, a second barn will be built on the same site -- an exciting time to join our growing operation!

We're currently looking for an experienced

Farm Manager / Site Supervisor

to take full responsibility for day-to-day operations and ensure everything runs smoothly.

WHAT WE OFFER

Starting wage:

$26.50/hour (up to $32.00/hourbased on experience and proven responsibility)

Schedule:

8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., every other weekend

Hiring bonus:

$2,000

after your first year

Vacation:

Three (3) weeks starting from day one

Your Role

As the Farm Manager, you'll be responsible for leading daily operations and ensuring the health, productivity, and welfare of our hens. Your duties will include:

Planning, organizing, and supervising building maintenance and operational activities Coordinating and leading farm staff Diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues; overseeing equipment maintenance and preventive servicing Monitoring feed, water, ventilation, and temperature systems to maintain ideal conditions Performing building and equipment repairs when needed Maintaining accurate daily reports and promptly addressing any issues Responding to alarms and taking corrective actions Supporting colleagues and contributing to a safe, efficient, and positive workplace And more -- every day brings something new!

What We're Looking For

Diploma in

Animal Production (I.T.A.)

or equivalent (an asset)

3-5 years

of relevant experience in farm management Experience working on a

poultry farm

with:
- Aviary housing for

30,000+ hens

, or
- Enriched housing for

75,000+ hens

Strong leadership and communication skills with a positive attitude Experience in planning, organizing, and tracking maintenance work Mechanical aptitude -- able to perform repairs and maintenance on equipment and buildings Sense of responsibility, organization, and ability to manage priorities Must live within

30 minutes

of the farm
