Farm Manager LOCATION: Weyburn / Regina / Indian Head Our client farms approximately 30,000 acres in Southern Saskatchewan around Weyburn, Regina and Indian Head. They require a FARM MANAGER to oversee all aspects of this grain production operation. This is an amazing opportunity to run a well equipped and well financed progressive farm with a top-quality land base and a terrific operational team. In addition to the conventional farm operation, they do some organic production as well as a few crop research trials. This is a rare career opportunity. This is a place where you can learn and grow. As the Farm Manager, you will draw on your knowledge of agronomy, grain production, land management, equipment logistics, human resources, and safe farm operational procedures. You will develop the crop production plan and work closely with your on-farm operational teams to execute the plan in a safe and timely manner. You will be the agronomic expert on staff. Our ideal candidate has at least five years of agronomic and grain farming related experience in Western Canada, (and preferably more). To be considered you must have strong broad acre agronomic skills plus a track record of sound logistics planning. You must have the ability to make an operational farm business plan and then execute the plan with a goal of maximizing yields, managing costs, and leading the team in a safe workplace environment. Experience hiring, delegating, and managing people is required. Experience with organic farming is an asset, but not a deal breaker. Do not be intimidated by the size of this job because an experienced operations team is in place, the equipment is top notch, and the current Farm Manager (who has been promoted), will be available to support you as you move up the learning curve.
