Farm Administrator

Island Holdings Limited supports Cavendish Farms by producing healthy and productive potato crops on farm operations in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.
The Farm Administrator will report to the Seed Operations Manager and will be based at 1030 Greeno Road, Chapman Settlement, NS. The role is a critical one on the team that ensures documentation, payables, and reporting is done in a timely manner to support planting, harvesting and shipping activities. The successful candidate can prioritize and solve problems to meet multiple deadlines. This role is full time and includes administration for two seed potato operations - in Chapman Settlement, NS and in Juniper, NB. Occasional travel is required.
Qualifications:

• High School or college diploma
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and web-based accounting programs
• Highly detailed and organized
• Knowledge of agriculture is an asset
• Able to work evenings, weekends and overtime during peak seasons
• Class 5 driver\xe2\x80\x99s license required

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer service over the phone and in person
• Processing of invoices, purchase orders, shipping records, payroll
• Support employee hiring, onboarding and orientation including pre-employment assessments new hire documentation
• Data entry and filing, meeting period and year-end deadlines
• Auditing company and site policies to ensure compliance
• All other administration and farm related duties as required

• Hourly wage range of $20-24 per hour
