Key Assets Newfoundland and Labrador (KANL) is a licensed foster care placement provider responsible for the provision of family-based and alternate care placements along with a wide variety of programming, supports and services for children and youth. Working in partnership with statutory bodies, KANL strives to deliver creative and innovative programs for the provision of unique and supportive services, tailored to meet the needs and improve outcomes for children and youth. KANL is currently recruiting a
part-time permanent social worker
to join the family-based care team in the
Western, NL region.
As part of the family-based care team, the successful applicant will be required to engage in the following activities, including but not limited to:
Representing KANL in the community or in interagency activities and participating in family-based care recruitment initiatives.
Completing comprehensive assessment for potential family-based carers and respite providers.
Conducting annual reviews on approved family-based carers.
facilitating and delivering PRIDE Training (Parent Resources for Information Development and Education).
Conducting interviews with family-based carers following a placement disruption.
Providing case management for children and youth.
Providing regular and ongoing support to family-based carers.
Supporting family access for children and youth.
Supervising child and youth care workers in family-based care settings and in the community.
Consulting and working collaboratively with other professionals internal and external to KANL to support the development of case plans, cultural connection plans and treatment plans for children and youth.
Adhere to the standards for client services in accordance with the Social Work Code of Ethics and Social Work Standards.
Demonstrate experience working with children and families, knowledge of professional social work practice relating to well-being of children, youth and families, case management skills, risk management skills, decision making skills.
Ability to communicate effectively, demonstrate self-awareness and self-care, manage high stress situations, commitment to service delivery excellence, relationship building and cultural competency.
Qualifications:
Completion of a Bachelor of Social Work Degree.
A minimum of five (5) years of post-graduate social work experience.
Registered member in good standing with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Social Workers (NLCSW).
Working knowledge of provincial legislation, regulations, policies & procedures for children, youth and families that guide the practice of delivering licensed foster care services in Newfoundland & Labrador.
Preference will be given to candidates who are PRIDE pre-service facilitators as well as experience doing PRIDE assessments, or other in-depth biopsychosocial assessments would be considered an asset.
Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
Must have highly developed critical thinking and analytical skills.
Must be a talented multi-tasker and an independent worker who is adept at working on a team.

Clear Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check from RNC/RCMP
Access to a personal vehicle and $2 Million Business Liability
Travel is a requirement of the position
Key Assets Newfoundland and Labrador offers:
Salary $34,255 - $42,687 annually
Group Health Benefits and RRSP contribution matching up to 5% of employee contribution
Annual leave entitlement of 20 days per year and Sick leave entitlement of 7 days per year
