Sagkeeng Child and Family Services (SCFS) is a First Nations CFS Agency who strives to recruit inspired, accountable and driven individuals to join our diverse talented team of professionals. We are currently recruiting for permanent fulltime Direct Service Workers for our Community Office.

Job Summary and Qualifications



The Family Wellness team provides services to families of Sagkeeng; we have a strength based and holistic approach that builds and emphasizes on existing skills. The Family Wellness team offers supportive workshops, trainings and programs throughout the year in order to enhance the family unit. Family Wellness unit is guided by the 7 sacred teachings and is proud to assist families to learn about their culture, customs and traditions in collaboration with community, collaterals and our elders.

General Duties:



Deliver Prevention services in accordance with Provincial and community standards; Works within a Strength based, Trauma informed approach Able to mediate and deescalate conflict within a family centered solution focused approach Intensively manages assigned files ensuring all cases are managed in accordance with the Provincial and agency standards, including Sagkeeng's customs and traditions Completing progress reports, case plans and assessments Program Development and delivery Ability to input information on to the CFSIS database

Qualifications:



BSW degree or other Post-secondary degree or Diploma in related field from an accredited University/College; Minimum 2 years experience in Child and Family Services preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal, written and organizational skills Excellent facilitation skills and strong knowledge of Child and family Services Strong analytical, referral, assessment, problem solving and treatment planning skills; CFSIS experience Assists with program delivery; including engagement, preparation, implementation and transition. Assists the Family Wellness Unit on hosting community initiatives and other tasks as assigned. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team; Valid class five driver's license and a reliable vehicle; Knowledge of the culture, community, and community resources. Flexible work schedule (ability to work evenings and weekends) The ability to speak and/or understand the Ojibway language is considered an asset.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $64,210.00-$91,312.00 per year
