Location:

Flexible, can be based in Fort St. James or in Vanderhoof Connexus office.

Hours of Work:

37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm; unless otherwise required by programming or client service delivery.

$25.95 - $29.76/hour as per CSSEA & CSSBA Collective Agreement (JJEP Wage Grid Level 10)

Job Summary

The Family Connections Worker provides supervision at family visits and transportation to and from those visits to children and youth who are in the care of the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD). The purpose of the supervised visits is to enable continued connection of children/youth with primary family and community. During supervised visits, the worker ensures the safety and wellbeing of the children is maintained throughout the visit. At times there may also be requirements to provide supervision and transportation for a child or youth in the care of MCFD to attend a meeting or appointment for services.

Qualifications & Experience:

Minimum of Grade 12 Two years recent related experience, or an equivalent combination or education, training, and experience Must be sensitive to and respectful of cultural differences, differences in socio-economic status and lifestyle diversity. Must be non-judgmental. Knowledge of relevant socio-historical events relevant to Indigenous culture Must possess basic computer skills.
