The Comox Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC) is looking for a Family Services Support Worker to be the first point of contact for our clients and the backbone of our day-to-day operations.
What You'll Do: Deployment Support:
Support military members through the deployment process
Coordinate and support deployment and reunion services for military families.
Provide clients with information on deployment-related resources and supports.
Support morale-boosting initiatives such as morale mail, family activities, and wellness check-ins.
Prepare and distribute deployment communication materials and resources.
Connect with military families consistently through warm line calls and emails.
Provide one on one support to families with their Family Preparedness Plans.
Relocation Support:
Provide guidance and resources to families preparing for relocation.
Share local community information, and connection opportunities.
Help clients navigate community services, schools, healthcare, and local supports.
Process clear-outs, and releases accurately.
Update the relocation guide as required.
Staff & Program Support:
Assist MFRC staff with planning, preparing, and delivering programs, workshops, and events.
Support program logistics including registration, setup, and materials preparation.
Provide administrative and teamwork support to Program Leads and staff as required.
Maintain MFRC bulletin boards with current information and announcements.
Maintain front facing areas and decorate for holidays.
Client Services:
Serve as the first point of contact for clients, providing a warm and welcoming experience.
Offer information and guidance on MFRC programs, services, workshops, and community resources.
Maintain and update membership lists, and client records.
Manage and maintain a welcoming reception area.
Respond to inquiries in person, by phone, and via email.
Pickup and distribute incoming and outgoing mail through the post office and base.
Perform monthly Code White system testing.

What We're Looking For:
Post-secondary education in office administration, business, or a related field.
Experience in client services and office administration.
Proficiency with databases and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Friendly, client-focused approach with discretion in handling confidential information.
Familiarity with the Comox Valley community and local resources.
Bilingualism is an asset.
Compensation and Benefits
Hourly Rate:
$24.00 - $30.00, based on certification and experience
Compensation package includes:
6% vacation pay
