A welcoming, collegial environment awaits family physicians and their families in Orillia, Ontario. Nestled on the shores of Lake Couchiching and Lake Simcoe, Orillia is located 1.5 hours north of Toronto and offers five picturesque waterfront parks, a state of the art new library, a world class entertainment centre, sixty alpine ski runs and eighty two kilometers of cross-country ski/cycling trails. The recent renewal of three key cultural assets, Leacock Museum, Orillia Opera House and Museum of Art & History contributes to a vibrant arts community. Government services, education, retail, manufacturing and tourism are the basis of Orillia\'s economy. The region is home to several large employers including, Ontario Provincial Police Headquarters as well as OPP Central Command, Casino Rama, Georgian College and Lakehead University.

Orillia Soldiers\' Memorial Hospital (OSMH) is located in the City of Orillia providing a comprehensive range of programs and services including medical, surgical and emergency care, as well as outpatient services. OSMH\'s primary service area includes Orillia, Rama First Nation, and the Townships of Severn, Ramara, and Oro-Medonte, and through our regional programs we are able to offer kidney care, orthopedic care, sexual assault and domestic violence treatment, adult mental health care, seniors care, as well as pediatric and neonatal intensive care to patients throughout North Simcoe Muskoka and beyond.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Family medicine practice available for late 2023. Practice is currently operated by a husband and wife team wishing to retire.

This is a longstanding practice with a wide age range of pleasant patients, provides an opportunity for broad based primary care plus options for obstetrics, palliative care and hospital work (including ER, hospitalist, and OR assisting). Office staff are well trained and willing to stay on to support the incoming MDs. EMR (Telus) in use for 11 years. FHO affiliation with FHT support, providing extensive allied health programming. Practice is well managed with top tier preventative care, low narcotic prescribing, and strong chronic disease management systems in place.

This single practice roster is a nice manageable size with option to expand if desired. This is a wonderful opportunity for physicians seeking a comfortable work/life balance.

Qualifications

Applicant must be a licensed physician (or eligible for licensing) in the Province of Ontario. Applicant must be eligible for appointment to the credentialed staff at Orillia Soldiers\' Memorial Hospital if privileges are being requested.
