Family Physician

North Vancouver, BC, CA, Canada

Job Description

At Lifespan we are on a mission to redefine healthcare by offering members an integrated preventative healthcare experience that is personalized to their unique needs. Our goal is to boost longevity by identifying and treating illnesses as early as possible while supporting members on their health journey.

Our services combine cutting edge diagnostic technologies with the latest scientifically validated tests - delivered in a compassionate, comfortable, and patient-focused environment. We are a physician-directed clinic that integrates the principles of functional medicine, preventative care, specialist services, and family medicine into a comprehensive healthcare experience.

Our Care Model

Lifespan has developed an innovative private-pay healthcare model where members are supported by a multi-disciplinary care team consisting of a Family Physician, Endocrinologist, Radiologist, Nurse, Exercise Physiologist, Dietician, and Health Coach - all Canadian certified in their field of expertise. Our model is comprised of the following elements:

Understand:

Upon joining Lifespan, members complete a detailed health questionnaire and undergo a nurse-led, intake interview to understand their health goals and medical history to create a personalized health assessment that is aligned to their unique circumstances.

Assess:

Shortly thereafter, members will attend Lifespan's state-of-the art North Vancouver healthcare clinic for their health assessment. Lifespan's clinic has been designed with a "one-stop shop" philosophy that, in most cases, allows us to collect all diagnostic information in a single, time efficient 3-4 hour visit to our clinic. Our in-house testing includes: bloodwork, physical exam, ultrasounds, body composition scan, mole/skin scan, ECG, cardiac stress test, VO2 max test, respiratory assessment, continuous glucose monitoring, cognitive assessment, and balance/strength testing. This allows us to gain a detailed understanding of a member's current state of health.

Debrief:

Our clinicians synthesize the data generated from the health assessment and generate a series of recommendations to put each member on a path to achieve their health goals. A member debrief is then scheduled with Lifespan's Medical Director to discuss recommendations and align on next steps.

Support:

The road to improved health is a journey and we recognize members may require ongoing support to achieve their health goals. Lifespan supports members on their health journey with in-house Dieticians, Exercise Physiologists, and Family Physicians (if needed) who are available to help members implement their health plan and support them on their health journey.
