We are currently seeking a highly organized and experienced Paralegal to join our Family Law team in Charlottetown. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our lawyers in delivering efficient and compassionate service to our clients.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare motion records, mediation and conference briefs, and other court documents. Draft and prepare legal documents such as court pleadings, financial statements, separation agreements, and correspondence. Establish and maintain a current calendar of events and a deadline reminder system for assigned lawyer(s). File and manage documents with the courts and other agencies. Record all billable and non-billable functions daily. Other related duties as required.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of 2 years' experience in a legal setting, preferably in family law. A highly motivated self-starter who has the ability to work well both autonomously and in a team environment. A commitment to the highest standards of integrity, client service and collegiality. Attention to detail, proven organizational skills and an effective communicator.

Cox & Palmer provides a competitive compensation and benefits package including:


Wage range: $42,000-$62,000, based on experience. Health, dental, life, and disability insurance; Employee Assistance Program; health and fitness allowance. Group Registered Savings Plan (RSP).
