Location: Peace Portal Counselling Centre - South Surrey BC
Position Type: Contract (Min 10 hours/ week)
Position Description:
Registered Clinical Counsellor will be contracted to work with children, adolescents, and their families for at least 10 hours a week.
Position Summary:
Provided professional counselling services in compliance with the BCACC Code of Ethical Conduct and Standards of Clinical Practice.
Work in a team atmosphere with other Registered Clinical Counsellors, Registered Social Workers, Registered Psychologists, and the administration team.
Implement two to three seminars per year.
Reports to:
Director of Peace Portal Counselling Centre.

Duties and Responsibilities
Attend and participate in one group-based clinical supervision meeting per month and one individual supervision meeting with a clinical supervisor for case review, clinical issues, and therapeutically oriented discussions.
Provides counselling for individuals, couples, and families.
Professional and ethical documentation of all counselling sessions, including dates, presenting concerns, outcomes, third-party contacts, and termination.
Interacts professionally and ethically with staff and clients.
Provides outreach workshops or presentations in the community.
Attend professional development yearly.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
At least three years of experience providing counselling services.
Knowledge of children, adolescents, and family counselling skills and practice.
Knowledge of counselling theoretical orientations related to working with families.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to establish rapport for healthy therapeutic relationships.
Desire to grow professionally and personally.
Ability to work hard.
