Your Opportunity:The Virtual Opioid Dependency Program is looking for a responsible, reliable, flexible team minded professional to join our team in the role of a Family Counsellor. Under the supervision of the Manager, the Family Counsellor provides clinical guidance and support to members of the multi-disciplinary team and promote the integration of best practice in mental health into direct therapeutic interventions. The Family Counsellor is an advanced clinical position that provides mental health and risk assessment, referrals, clinical consultation and brief intervention with adolescents and their families, including individual and family therapy, group therapy, case management, providing referrals and engaging adolescents and families and assisting them in navigating systems to obtain appropriate supports. The candidate must have strong assessment and therapy skills, utilize principles of trauma informed care, Collaborative Problem Solving, and family centered care within their work. As the Family Counsellor you will participate in program development and evaluation, communicate clear, practical, assessment findings, plans, and make recommendations to the team, families, and other service providers. You may be involved in case conferences, staff meetings, and professional development. A demonstrated commitment to collaborative practice to enhance patient health outcomes; an understanding of partnerships and connection with community partners and the ability to coordinate service delivery with other AHS services and staff; your ability to set realistic expectations and boundaries in the therapeutic relationship; ability to work independently; conflict resolution, critical thinking and leadership skills are all essential to this role.Description:As a Family Counsellor, you will provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up to clients and their families. You will also provide clinical focused consultation with other programs or community resources and acts as a liaison to develop and promote preventative health programs in the community. You will collaborate with other health care providers and community service providers to ensure a continuum of care in the community.

Required Qualifications:Completion of master\'s degree in a health related field. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college. Additional Required Qualifications:3 to 5 years clinical experience with supervision in counselling. 1 to 3 years\' experience in mental health and addiction with adolescents and families. Demonstrates knowledge in Trauma Informed care. Demonstrates an ability to manage workload and to complete assessments, documentation, and consultations in a timely manner within a fast-paced environment. Experience working with community agencies and partners. Strong computer skills, including familiarity with Connect Care an asset. Advanced family therapy skills essential. Strong ability to work with other professions and contribute positively to changes in services is essential.
