Your Opportunity:Youth Addiction Services Edmonton is seeking a Family Counsellor to provide direct family focused assessment and interventions to families of youth accessing addiction and mental health services. In this position, you will be providing direct client service including assessment, treatment planning, and case management grounded in a family systems framework. Successful candidates will be able to provide a range of family-systems evidence-based interventions including brief and intensive therapy, experiential learning, and individual and group therapy (psychoeducational and process oriented). Referral and transition planning support is integral to being successful in this role. This position also works closely with other addiction and mental health interventionists within the clinic by providing consultation and capacity building about the family systems realm. Participation in case consultation, program development, evaluation, and some clinical supervision in relation to family systems interventions is required. Additionally, as the successful candidate, you would require strong collaboration skills; understanding the value of partnership with community stakeholders and service providers, and the ability to coordinate service delivery with other AHS services/staff.Description:As a Family Counsellor, you will provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up to clients and their families. You will also provide clinical focused consultation with other programs or community resources and acts as a liaison to develop and promote preventative health programs in the community. You will collaborate with other health care providers and community service providers to ensure a continuum of care in the community.

Required Qualifications:Completion of one of the following programs: Master\'s degree in Psychology. Master\'s degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy. Master\'s or Bachelor\'s degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Master\'s degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable regulatory college. Additional Required Qualifications:A minimum of a Master\'s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Nursing. Equivalent education and experience may be considered. Must be qualified to perform psychosocial interventions. Education and training in Family Systems work is required. Registration in a professional regulatory body as defined by the Health Professionals Act (CARNA, CRPNA, ACOT, CAP, ACSW). Registered Social Workers must be authorized to perform psychosocial interventions and designation as a Clinical Social Worker is preferred. 3-5 years of recent experience in the community addiction or mental health setting providing services to children, youth and their families and/or an acute child psychiatric setting required. Knowledge and skills in a family systems framework, assessment, goal setting, and treatment using evidenced based modalities. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention. First Aid/BLS. Suicide Risk Management. Preferred Qualifications:A master\'s degree in counselling psychology is preferred. Formal training in CBT, SFT, and MI is preferred. Experience with administering psychological assessments is an asset. Connect Care experience is preferred.
