Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Program Manager, of NW Campus, the Family Counsellor will be working at the Women's Mental Health Clinic. A clinic that offers psychiatric assessment and treatment for women with moderate to severe mental health concerns during pregnancy and for up to one year after they give birth. This position will contribute to a team of dynamic, innovative and committed, Therapists, Nurses (intake), Psychiatrists, Administrative / Clerical support staff. The candidate must have experience working with perinatal mental health, well developed assessment and therapeutic intervention skills, a solid grounding in a family systems framework with a proven ability to provide evidence-based treatment. Participation in program development, evaluation and some clinical supervision is required. The position requires strong collaborative skills, an understanding of the value of partnerships and the connection with community partners and the ability to coordinate service delivery with other AHS services/staff. As a Family Counsellor, you will provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up to clients and their families. You will collaborate with other health care providers and community service providers to ensure a continuum of care in the community. Must have excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to take initiative and demonstrate reliability and flexibility.
