Family Assistant Needed

We are a busy family of five managing two demanding full-time executive roles, three active children, numerous extracurriculars, volunteer commitments, and the general day-to-day of a lively household. As our family's schedule continues to grow, we're looking for a highly reliable Family Assistant to help keep our home running smoothly.

About the Role

We're seeking someone who can seamlessly step in to support our family by staying on top of recurring tasks and bringing a calm, organized presence to our home.

Key Responsibilities

Laundry management:

washing, folding, ironing, and keeping clothing organized.

General household tidying:

resetting daily spaces, putting items back where they belong, and helping maintain order (note: we have a cleaner; this is day-to-day upkeep, not deep cleaning).

Light meal prep

basic grocery shopping:

occasionally, when needed.

What You Bring

A shared commitment to honesty, trust, and integrity, as you'll be working directly in our home. Reliability and consistency - we need someone we can count on. A willingness to learn the rhythms of our household and where things go. A proactive, "see what needs doing and do it" mindset. Strong situational awareness - the ability to spot when the dishwasher needs emptying, laundry is piling up, or the entryway needs a reset, and to take initiative. Comfort with arriving to a new to-do list each visit.

Schedule & Compensation

Approximately 6-8 hours per week, typically 2-3 hours per visit, 3 days a week (Monday-Friday). Flexible timing, coordinated to suit both sides. $25/hour. This is a contractor role, so you are responsible for your own statutory deductions (CPP, income tax, etc.), maintaining any required WCB/insurance coverage, and handling your own bookkeeping and tax obligations. You will invoice for hours worked, and we will issue payment accordingly. Vehicle not required. We are close to transit and walkable distance to grocery stores.
