This opportunity does have the potential of leading to full-time employment once the successful candidate has successfully completed a probationary period. Initial contract is for 3 months.

Duties & Responsibilities

DUTIES

AND

RESPONSIBILITIES

Classroom instruction to apprentice, entry-level or Industry Services students. Shop and laboratory instruction and supervision. Administrative responsibilities, including assignments, examination marking, and student evaluation. Curriculum maintenance and program enhancement. Administrative processes required to ensure appropriate resources are in place to deliver training. Other duties directly related to the instruction of trades and vocational programs. Input into development of modifications to workshop and instructional areas.

QUALIFICATIONS

BC Trades Certificate of Qualification/Red Seal endorsement in the following: + Plumber
+ Gasfitter "Class B"
Additional qualifications enhancing your application but not required: + Gasfitter "class A"
+ Steamfitter/Pipefitter
+ Sprinkler-fitter
Five years' current work experience as a journeyperson in the Plumbing trade. Effective interpersonal skills and a strong desire to teach. Effective command of the English language - both written and oral. Experience working with apprentices in a supervisory role. Ability to work as part of a team and develop a collegial environment.

These are the minimum required qualifications. This position is a dayshift position as defined in Article 14.1 of the Collective Agreement.

Salary Range: $78,133 - $115,805 per annum.
