The department of Mechanical Engineering at BCIT offers diplomas and an accredited degree in Mechanical Engineering. The primary goal of the programs is to graduate highly-qualified, practical mechanical technologists and engineers who are eligible for professional registration.

BCIT\xe2\x80\x99s School of Energy is currently seeking a regular, full-time (1.0 FTE ) Instructor who is an enthusiastic, team-oriented professional with practical knowledge of mechanical engineering. The successful candidate must have a strong commitment to teaching and interacting with students, an ability to communicate clearly and effectively, and an interest in developing and delivering quality in-class curriculum.

• Mechanical Engineering Fundamentals
• Engineering Graphics, Drawing, and CAD
• Industrial Measurement and Control including PLCs

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five years of experience in a relevant engineering environment.
• Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in Canada.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Strong digital literacy skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and in teams.
• Post-secondary teaching experience is an asset.
• Experience with eLearning is an asset.

Salary Range
Salary Range: $56,845 - $99,571 per annum.


Additional Salary Information
Salary prorated based on percentage and term of appointment. Salary based on education, experience and placement criteria as outlined in the Collective Agreement.
