The Taylor Academy seeks a chamber music coach beginning in fall 2025. As a leading performance academy of its kind in Canada, this position is an opportunity to work with some of the finest young talents of our time. Taylor Academy students participate in 26 weeks of classes and receive weekly coaching during the academic year.


The Chamber Music Instructor must be available Friday evenings at 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. Saturday availability is also plus.

What We're Looking For

Master's degree in music performance A proven track record of working successfully with gifted children Experience pre-college and post-secondary teaching and guest master class clinician Extensive performance experience in a premier chamber ensemble Current active performer of chamber music, with expertise in a broad range of chamber ensemble repertoire and instrumentations Recognized as expert on chamber music, orchestral studies, solo repertoire, and contemporary music Successful track record as a recording artist Ability to recruit new Academy students a plus A team player, interested in contributing to the community and culture of the RCM

The selection process may include an audition and/or a mock teaching assignment, and/or submission of recent live audio or video recordings of chamber music performances upon request (do not send any media files unless requested) As this position will require working with children, the selected candidate will be required to provide a Vulnerable Sector Screening Check prior to their start date in this position
