Job Overview:

We are looking for a

Factory Maintenance Assistant

to support the upkeep, repair, and general maintenance of our machinery and facilities throughout the building here at

Perfect Fit.

This role will be responsible to ensure routine tasks are being conducted, assist maintenance members with machine repairs, and support the facility upkeep as needed. The ideal candidate will be passionate to grow in the sector while gaining new skills!

Responsibilities & Duties:

Assist with the installation and maintenance of machinery.

Assist in routine preventative maintenance to minimize machinery downtime and extend equipment life.

Assist with inspections & report maintenance issues/safety hazards on both machinery and facility grounds.

Provide assistance with machine repairs and the general upkeep.

Assist with routine building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and lighting repairs.

Perform basic carpentry, painting, and other general repairs.

Knowledge of schematics and blueprint drawings. (Considered an asset).

Maintain cleanliness and order of facilities, including minor janitorial duties.

Track and restock maintenance supplies and tools as needed.

Work collaboratively with contractors, vendors, and other maintenance staff.

Ensure compliance with safety and building regulations.

Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff or facility users.

Other tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Registered as a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year Millwright. (Considered an asset).

Basic knowledge of building systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC). (Considered an asset).

Prior maintenance or handyman experience. (Considered an asset).

Ability to use basic hand and power tools. (Preferred).

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.

Strong communication skills.

Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Passionate to expand both their mechanical & electrical knowledge of Industrial machinery.

Strong aptitude and the willingness to learn new skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Expected hours: 40 per week
