Permanent Part-Time Facility Operator or Certified Facility Operator

The Facility Operator (Operator) oversees the management of ice surfaces for both indoor and outdoor rinks, as well as the maintenance of indoor fields and related equipment at the TransAlta Tri Leisure Centre (TLC). This vital role ensures the smooth and safe operation of the facility, contributing to a positive experience for patrons. Operators also perform maintenance duties such as painting, snow removal, etc.

Operators promote the TLC's vision, mission, and values, has excellent communication and listening skills, and highly developed interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate demonstrates independent decision-making, problem-solving and analytical skills.

Arena Operator I is required

, while Arena Operator Level II is an asset. Our Operators have a well-developed understanding of artificial ice preparation and maintenance.

Must be available to work all shifts: weekdays, evenings and weekend. Weekend availability is an operational requirement.

A minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of arena/soccer related experience in a Community Services or Recreation Facility would be considered an asset. Applicants must provide evidence of a valid Class 5 driver's license, current Intermediate First Aid certification taken within the last two (2) years, as well as a clear criminal record check prior to commencement of employment (for employees over the age of 18).

Wage Range:

$26.70 to $34.51/hour
Guaranteed minimum hours: 30 hours per week
