We're looking for a hands-on, motivated
Facility Operator
to join our team and help keep our camp running smoothly year-round.
Position Overview
The
Facility Operator
plays a key role in maintaining and operating the camp's grounds, buildings, and equipment. This position ensures all facilities are safe, functional, and ready for campers, rental groups, and special events. The ideal candidate enjoys practical, hands-on work, takes pride in quality craftsmanship, and values stewardship and teamwork.
What You'll Do
Perform day-to-day maintenance of buildings, cabins, and infrastructure.
Carry out repairs in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and general upkeep.
Maintain and operate camp vehicles, tools, and machinery.
Support setup and cleanup for rentals, retreats, and summer programs.
Follow preventative maintenance and seasonal checklists.
Oversee grounds care including mowing, snow removal, and landscaping.
Monitor supplies and coordinate with the administrative team for purchases.
Ensure facilities meet safety and cleanliness standards at all times.
Work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and guests to create a welcoming environment.
Who You Are
Skilled in basic trades or property maintenance (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, etc.)
Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
Physically capable of outdoor, hands-on work in all seasons.
Organized, detail-oriented, and safety-minded.
A team player who communicates well and values serving others.
Committed to the mission and values of Echo Lake Bible Camp.
Possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Bonus Points If You Have
Experience working in camp, retreat, or hospitality environments.
Familiarity with rural systems (wells, septic, propane, etc.).
Ability to live on-site (housing may be available).
Compensation
Hourly wage
based on experience.
