THE OPPORTUNITY:

Under the general direction of the LMC Coordinator, the Facility Operator I maintains the cleanliness of the City facility in accordance with established standards, provides customer service by providing assistance to the public, user groups, answering inquiries and/or directing them to the appropriate person or area. This role differs from that of Custodian as it is required to regularly and routinely perform basic maintenance duties related to the building and equipment within the City facility. Major duties also include event set up, take down and clean up for events. This position will be primarily scheduled for evenings and weekends.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge and ability to enforce Fire Code regulations Ability to troubleshoot audio/visual equipment. Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, facility users and members of the public. Exceptional customer service skills Ability to work a variety of shifts, including evening, weekend and overnight. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Physical ability to perform the duties of the role. Ability to represent the City and the Department in a professional manner.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

One-year minor maintenance and custodial experience Building Maintenance Operator I and II certification preferred Valid Class 5 Driver's License

Salary Range:

$26.83 - $33.54 per hour (minimum 20-hour work week).
