The Opportunity
Metis Crossing is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional for the position of Facilities Manager. This full-time, permanent role is responsible for ensuring the professional presentation and operational upkeep of all facilities. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge and hands-on experience in building maintenance, groundskeeping, and team leadership.
As a key member of the Facilities team, the Manager will oversee the maintenance of the campground, historic village, gardens, permaculture installations, trails, Gathering Centre, and Lodge to ensure that all spaces are maintained to the highest standard and support the sharing of the Metis story with visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the facilities team, including hiring, training, performance management, and employee development.
Develop and manage an Asset Management Plan, inventory system, and asset use policies and procedures.
Build and maintain relationships with vendors and service providers, ensuring compliance with company onboarding policies.
Maintain accurate documentation, manuals, and software required for effective maintenance operations.
Use Excel and other management tools to track and report on budgets, schedules, and departmental performance.
Ensure compliance with all company policies and relevant regulatory safety standards.
Establish short- and long-term goals to improve the department's productivity, quality, and reliability, in collaboration with other departments.
Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Construction, Facility Management, or a related field.
Minimum 3-5 years of leadership experience in facilities or asset management.
Strong skills in MS Excel and other facilities or maintenance management software.
Proven experience managing facility operations, including safety compliance.
WHMIS, First Aid, and other relevant safety certifications.
Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
Level 1 Water Operation Certificate. Candidates must provide proof of certification.
Knowledge of Metis history and culture is an asset.
Other Qualifications
Level 1 Wastewater Certificate is an asset.
Journeyman Electrician certification or electrical maintenance experience is considered an asset.
