About the Opportunity
Our client, a leader in industrial production and distribution across Canada, is seeking an experienced Facility Manager to oversee the safe and efficient operations of a Production Terminal in Calgary. This role involves managing all aspects of facility operations, including manufacturing, administration, maintenance, safety, budgeting, and customer service.
The Facility Manager will supervise staff, implement policies, provide safety training, and ensure compliance with environmental and operational standards. This role also oversees associated remote storage and distribution facilities within the area.
Key Responsibilities
Plant Operations:
Supervise and schedule hourly employees to meet production needs.
Manage quality control processes, ensuring products meet customer requirements.
Conduct daily production meetings and troubleshoot operational issues.
Maintain housekeeping and safety standards throughout the facility.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Oversee logistics and transportation of raw materials and finished products.
Manage critical spares and inventory control to reduce costs.
Maintain and execute preventive maintenance programs and backlog planning.
Collaborate with the quality assurance team and operations management to optimize efficiency and control production costs.
Assist in preparing and managing annual budgets and operational plans.
Human Resources & Leadership:
Provide health and safety training to all employees.
Lead performance reviews and mentor operational staff.
Ensure proper staffing and foster a collaborative work environment.
Qualifications
Technical degree or diploma in engineering, operations, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in manufacturing, processing, or industrial facilities management.
Strong customer service and leadership skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and Access; experience with JD Edwards (JDE) is an asset.
Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities.
Alternatively, candidates with a 3rd or 4th Class Power Engineer certification combined with demonstrated leadership experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
