Reporting to the Manager of Environmental Services, the Facility Coordinator is responsible for performing general housekeeping duties, minor maintenance or servicing tasks throughout the facility. This role ensures a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, families, and staff, in accordance with established policies, procedures, and safety standards.
The Facility Coordinator is also responsible for identifying and reporting unsafe conditions or situations promptly, supporting infection prevention protocols, and ensuring a high standard of cleanliness is maintained. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively and respectfully with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members are essential to this role.
Experience:
Minimum 1-2 years of professional cleaning experience
Proven experience with heavy-duty cleaning equipment
Ability to perform basic maintenance tasks and submit accurate work orders
Skilled in using maintenance hand tools
Experience in minor carpentry and general building repairs
Ability to perform basic plumbing tasks
Knowledge of safe work practices, including WHMIS and the proper use of cleaning and sanitation products
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Minimum 2 years' experience in a Long-Term Care or healthcare environment
Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook; experience with WorxHub or other preventive maintenance (PM) programs considered an asset
Able to lift up to 50 pounds
Demonstrated record of good attendance
Evidence of good attendance
A valid Vulnerable Sector Check for Employment completed by your local Police Department - No older than 6 months
Two-step TB test or chest x-ray - No older than 6 months this has to be fill out within 14 days of hire*
