Minimum Qualifications:Post-Secondary education in a technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
4-5 years of related work experience focused on large scale construction inspection, facility construction inspection and contract administration
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills that are resolution oriented
Ability to interpret contract specifications, drawings and design standards for both OPS and CCDC contract formats
Ability to lead construction progress meetings
Ability to prepare contract progress payments
Self-motivated to set goals and diligently work towards achieving them
Excellent customer service skills
Dedicated to a high degree of professionalism and setting standards of excellence
Ability to organize work and resources in a fast-paced team environment
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
Valid driver's license and provision of own vehicle
Assets:Experience in a municipal environment, including water and wastewater facilities
Experience with contract dispute resolution
Professional Designation (C.TECH or CET)
Working at Heights Certification, Confined Space training and other related construction safety training
Duties:On-site inspection and supervision of larger scale municipal facility infrastructure projects, in accordance with County policies, plans and contract specifications. Projects may include water and wastewater treatment plant upgrades, new pumping stations, major renovations to community centres, administration offices, or new construction of other County facilities such as fire stations or administration offices.
Maintain daily records of contractor progress and construction schedule.
Monitor budgets, change orders, extras, and contractor requests for information. Maintain up-to-date files for County records.
Lead construction progress meetings including preparing agendas and meeting minutes.
Communicate project information to appropriate agencies, stakeholders and the public where applicable.
Assist with the review of contract drawings and specifications during the design phase with respect to constructability.
Coordinate quality control testing as needed.
Coordinate construction activities with other affected County divisions, Consultants and other agencies as required.
Provide technical assistance to various other staff regarding the departmental workplan and programs, including, but not limited to:
+ Monitoring and reporting on project timelines and budgets
+ Attending public meetings to discuss project details with affected property owners and other stakeholders
+ Ensuring regulatory Health and Safety practices are followed and adhered to Assist with asset management activities following construction completion. This includes updates to tangible capital asset information and assisting with updates to GIS data.

Annual Salary Range
- $77,860 - $91,073 (Job Grade 6 - Under Review) 35 hours per week
