: Permanent full-time - 37.5 hours per week. Weekend availability required and must be able to work early mornings (6:30am).

Compensation

: $22.00/hour.

Overview


The Victoria Conservatory of Music (VCM) is looking for a reliable individual to join our Facilities team in a full-time capacity. This role is primarily focused on ensuring our facilities are clean, safe, and welcoming for our students, staff, and visitors.



Key Responsibilities


Keeping building and property in clean and orderly condition. Performing routine cleaning activities, including: Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming floors. Scrubbing, sanitizing, and suppling restroom facilities. Dusting furniture, walls, and equipment. Cleaning windows, mirrors, and partitions. Preparing and mixing cleaning solutions. Setting up rooms and equipment for classes and lessons. Facilitating room entry/control of faculty and students.

Ability to multi-task and exercise good judgment when prioritizing assigned duties. Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with management. Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with a range of people from different backgrounds. Strong work ethic, combining energy and stamina. Understanding of and commitment to creating a work environment that is inclusive, diverse, equitable, and accessible. High level of professionalism with good judgement and discretion.



Qualifications and Requirements


* Previous experience and WHIMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) training is an asset.
