Facilities Projects Scheduler, Calgary


Reporting to the Director, Facilities Projects, the Scheduler position will be an energetic self-starter, performing a critical role, directly supporting the business through the preparation, maintenance and continuous improvement of our integrated capital projects schedule. Your day-to-day:

  • As a member of the Facilities Projects team, you will be accountable for the creation and regular updating of individual projects schedules and the overall integrated schedule.

  • You will be highly pro-active and provide general direction in the development of MEG processes and practices to ensure overall Facilities Projects scheduling success.

  • Provide leadership in establishing a strong Safety culture within the MEG Energy Corp\xe2\x80\x99s organization, vendors, service providers, and the contractors we engage with;

  • Be part of a cohesive team and build strong relationships with other groups such as the Engineering and Procurement contractor, construction, internal MEG groups, contract resources and other stakeholders;

  • Develops, integrates and maintains the engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction and commissioning/start-up schedules;

  • Attend regular project construction and expediting meetings and provide resulting updated schedules.

  • Establishes and disseminates scheduling templates and change processes required to construct and maintain project schedules;

  • Leads the schedule integration review process on a regular as required;

  • Publishes integrated schedule to project team on a regular basis as required;

  • Identifies trends, conflicts, risks and opportunities that will impact the monthly/bi-weekly execution schedule and ultimate deliverables of the project;

  • Ensures the integrated schedule reflects all known and anticipated constraints (capacity availability and material availability);

  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting and respond to the requirements of both Site and Home Office management needs;

  • At project completion, assist with compiling the final Project Controls input to the project closeout report and project cost metrics.

  • Act as a specific area single point contact prior to and during the TA execution activities, when required.

  • Ensure resource schedule cost controls are consistently completed

  • Reporting critical path to Facilities Projects stakeholders

  • Coordinating meetings with Facilities Projects stakeholders

  • Provide/distribute filtered discipline specific schedules

  • Ensure regular updates are entered into the scheduling program and communicate results on aa timely basis as required.



What you will bring to MEG:

  • Certification in Primavera P6 Advanced level with a minimum of 5 years related experience.

  • Project management certification, Trade Certification as well as planning training would be an asset.

  • Good understanding of sequencing relationships (start-finish, finish-finish, finish-start, start-start).

  • Turnaround/ Outage execution co-ordination and planning work orders would be an asset.

  • Must be willing to travel to site periodically.

  • Strong Maintenance background with SAGD experience would be an asset.

  • Maximo CMMS system knowledge would be a strong asset.

  • Strong working knowledge of Project Control functions and processes including planning/scheduling, resource loading, cost estimating and change management.

  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)

  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office, Word, Excel, is a must)

  • A self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision.
