Facilities Projects Site Project Scheduler (Contract Role), Calgary
If you are an expert in Site Scheduling and Project Controls for major projects and are seeking a new role in a dynamic team, then we want to hear from you! The MEG Energy Facilities Projects team is expanding with an opportunity for an energetic self-starter who is looking to take on a critical role in directly supporting the business through the preparation, maintenance and continuous improvement of our Site Planning and Scheduling development, control, and reporting. Your day-to-day will include:This is a site-based position. You will be required to work a 7-7 rotation, with the first few months training in the Calgary office.
Provide leadership in establishing a strong Safety culture within the MEG Energy Corp's organization, vendors, service providers, and the contractors we engage with.
As a member of the Facilities Projects Site team, you will be accountable for the creation and regular updating of individual projects schedules and the overall integrated schedule.
You will be highly pro-active and provide general direction in the development of MEG processes and practices to ensure overall Facilities Projects scheduling success.
Develops, integrates and maintains the detailed construction and commissioning/start-up schedules.
Ensure construction and commissioning schedules are resource loaded with latest in-house estimate or contractor estimate.
Facilitate scheduling and progress meetings with CMT, site contractors and other stakeholders.
Attend regular project construction and expediting meetings and provide resulting updated schedules.
Develop project layouts that identifies trends, conflicts, risks and opportunities that will impact the monthly/bi-weekly execution schedule and ultimate deliverables of the project.
Publishes site integrated schedule to project team on a regular basis as required;
Ensures the construction and commissioning schedule reflects all known and anticipated constraints from site contractors (capacity availability and material availability);
Provide/distribute filtered discipline specific schedules.
Reporting critical path to Facilities Projects stakeholders.
Ensure accurate and timely reporting and respond to the requirements of both Site and Home Office management needs.
Assist with other Project controls duties as required and assigned by the project controls manager.
At project completion, assist with compiling the final Project Controls input to the project closeout report and project cost metrics.
Act as a point of contact for all Facility Projects site schedules.
Coordinating meetings with Facilities Projects stakeholders.
What you will bring to MEG:Certification in Primavera P6 Advanced level with a minimum of 5 years related experience.
Project management certification, Trade Certification as well as planning training would be an asset.
Post-secondary education with a technical diploma or bachelor's degree from an accredited university would be an asset.
Good understanding of sequencing relationships (start-finish, finish-finish, finish-start, start-start)
Knowledge on levels of schedule (L3/L4/L5), classes of estimates, field install work package, and QC/turnover system.
Turnaround/ Outage execution experience would be an asset
Strong Capital Project with SAGD experience would be an asset
Strong working knowledge of Project Control functions and processes including planning/scheduling, resource loading, cost estimating and change management
Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
Excellent computer skills (MS Office, Word, Excel, is a must)
A self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision.
This position will start in Calgary (ECT) and will transition to site (Christina Lake).
