DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Dust, sweep, vacuum, and mop floors. Remove garbage, cardboard, and recyclables. Wipe down doors and flush handles. Properly dispose of soiled items and bodily fluids. Operate heavy-duty janitorial machinery for stripping and waxing floors; move or arrange furniture as necessary. Perform snow removal in entrances, exits, and hallways, ensuring these areas are adequately salted and sanded. Ensure that halls and rooms are thoroughly cleaned and free of clutter. Regularly check the condition of the building and grounds; report any major concerns or unsafe conditions to management. Provide access to the building for tradesmen conducting repairs. Ensure proper handling and storage of chemicals and cleaning supplies. Wear protective gear as required for specific tasks. Fill out maintenance inventory sheets, order supplies, and organize supplies upon arrival. Complete miscellaneous duties as requested by management.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Previous cleaning experience and the ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs Understanding of standard cleaning procedures, products, and equipment Certified in First Aid WHMIS Cooperative Self-motivated Ability to work under minimal supervision
