We are currently looking for a Facilities Coordinator to join our Facilities Coordinator team in a permanent position. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for scheduling and issuing daily maintenance work orders for all planned and unplanned maintenance work within NSP Operational Facilities. You will compile documentation for all contractors with respect to safety and assist with the coordination of and take part in inspections.

As Facilities Coordinator you will:

  • Assist in preparing monthly reports for maintenance, operating and capital budgets.
  • Prepare requisitions and receive against purchase orders for all non-power production facilities across the province.
  • Track invoices, check invoices received against work orders and initial approvals.
  • Maintain a filing system of maintenance and improvement work.
  • Receive and dispatch maintenance calls.
  • Complete general maintenance tasks.
  • Check on progress of assigned work orders and assist the Facility Capital Project Manager with work orders requiring new equipment, outside contractors, services, or other expenditures.
  • Maintain all equipment manuals, equipment warranties and inspection documentation.
  • Assist other department members on the Real Estate side of the business with related tasks.
In addition, the role may provide support to manage internal moves within our operational sites and maintain accurate headcounts/occupancy records by location.

You ensure compliance with the Real Estate Safety program and the Environmental Management System program. You coordinate all aspects of Health and Safety and Fire Safety in the area of responsibility, are a team member of the Lakeside Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee and actively participate and support the Emergency Restoration Response program.

You will be responsible for your personal safety and that of co-workers, by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations. You will be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environmental management system processes and initiatives.

What skills will make you successful?

You recognize yourself in most of the following competencies, and where possible possess the skills and experience listed below:
  • You possess a Grade XII education or equivalent experience.
  • A post-secondary or community college education related to facilities or environment would be considered an asset.
  • A minimum of 2 years work experience in facilities management and/or asset construction is required.
  • Experience working with contractors, contract administration and/or mechanical systems would be considered an asset.
  • A strong proficiency in working with Microsoft Office products with extensive knowledge and experience in Excel. Experience with and a strong understanding of basic accounting practices & systems would be considered an asset.
  • You have demonstrated problem solving skills and proven customer service skills.
  • Effective communication skills and strong interpersonal skills are a necessity.
  • You are able to motivate and promote teamwork amongst others.
  • You take initiative and are able to prioritize and respond quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
