The role is responsible for working closely with the Facilities Team and the Corporate Store Operations Team to determine the best path to the completion of a maintenance work order. A key function of the role is to review maintenance work orders received by the Facilities Team and to determine the proper Scope of Work and the preferred path to complete the maintenance request. This role will be the lead contact representing the Facilities Team with regards to construction maintenance items within Pet Valu.

Supporting the Facilities Department by reviewing work orders to determine the appropriate stream to complete the order including establishing the budget, schedule and scope of work by:

  • Determining if the Scope of Work is complex and beyond the capacity of the Facilities Coordinators and if correct path is through the Construction Maintenance Project Manager or a third-party vendor
  • Working with vendor/suppliers to create Scope of Works, budgets and schedules
  • Securing permits and entitlements as applicable for each Construction Maintenance Project
  • Ensure proper communications are provided to both internal and external stakeholders
  • For work orders, manage the design professionals and general contractors engaged on a Construction Maintenance Project
Review and coordinate special project and installations such as double door installations, freezer installs, signage replacement, HVAC replacements, laundry projects, and various other special construction related projects by:
  • Preparing budgets, scope of work and schedules
  • Ensuring proper communications with internal and external stakeholders
  • Attend construction site meetings as required
  • Prepare and evaluate RFP\xe2\x80\x99s, negotiations, preparation and execution of contracts
  • Track projects to completion
The role manages a high volume of projects and will always be adjusting priorities based on the needs of the business by:
  • Continually reviewing new requests and tracking them within a single document
  • Attend bi-weekly meetings with the Club Facilities and Operations Team to prioritize and provide updates on all outstanding work orders
Ensuring proper communications with stakeholders to ensure priorities are adjusted accordingly Reviewing all requests from CAPEX related matters, maintenance items or Property Management

Experience & Education
  • Prefer a College Degree in Construction or Architectural Based Program
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of work experience in construction industry, preferably with a retail or QSR background
  • Previous experience in construction or facilities management

Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office \xe2\x80\x93 Word, Excel, Outlook;
