ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY:
The Facilities Caretaker will be responsible for working with the Facilities Team, and other staff members to maintain the cleanliness of campus buildings and grounds throughout the year. This includes, but is not limited to, bathrooms, classrooms, glass, floorwork, mowing grass, weeding, trimming hedges, maintaining flowerbeds, snow shoveling and general maintenance items. They will be required to use various tools including vacuums, mowers, trimmers, shovels, and clippers.
Main responsibilities for this position will include:
oResponsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in all campus buildings and grounds
oPerform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting and sanitizing to ensure hygienic environment
oIdentify and report maintenance issues, such as broken fixtures, leaks to ensure facilities remain safe and functional
oAssist in the day-to-day operations of the facilities by completing work orders, office moves, deliveries, event set ups
oManage waste disposal, including emptying trash bins, recycling and compost
oUtilize and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies, ensuring they are in good working order and stored properly
TERM DATES: January 5th 2026 to April 5th, 2026
QUALIFICATIONS
oPrevious experience in custodial roles is preferred, demonstrating familiarity with cleaning techniques and equipment.
oStrong attention to detail to ensure thorough cleaning and maintenance of facilities.
oAbility to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
oStrong communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with the team.
oAbility to promote, or at least respect, the institution's Catholic mission and identity.
oAbility to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion, as well as Truth and Reconciliation.
