Job summary:



We are seeking a dynamic and organized full-time

Facilitator

to join us starting as soon as possible. Please note that this current position is a one-year contract only but has the high possibility of becoming permanent.

The Facilitator is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating the delivery of education and/or employment services to students in our IPSE (Inclusive Post Secondary Education) program and/or graduates in our GSS (Graduate Support Services) program. Facilitators balance our three pillars of service to our clients: education, employment, and community (or campus) engagement.

Job duties include:



Facilitating meaningful inclusion for adults with developmental disabilities in all aspects of academics, campus life, and/or employment; Documenting activities as required; Attending regular staff and other meetings; Supporting the development and achievement of clients' Individual Service Plan (ISP) goals; and, Attending ongoing workshops and continuing education as required.

Job requirements/qualifications:



A university degree (preferably in Social Work or Psychology or related fields) or a diploma in Human Services or an associated field. Preference will be given to academic credentials obtained in Canada; One-year minimum training or experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities; An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered; Current criminal record clearance (with Vulnerable Sector Check) is required and must have been completed no earlier than six months prior to starting employment; Current CPR and First Aid Certificates; Computer literacy, including effective working skills in MS Word, Excel and e-mail required; Demonstrated ability to work in a demanding team environment; Previous community, employment, or post-secondary education related experience a definite asset; Ability to work under minimal supervision.

Job/work conditions:



Facilitators work from a central office at the University of Calgary and meet clients either on campus (usually off-site) for coursework or elsewhere for employment purposes, attending campus or community engagement activities, and/or supporting clients in their workplace(s), including off-campus, in the Calgary region; 40-hour work week. Office hours are typically Monday-Friday from 8 am to 4 pm (in a hybrid arrangement) with flexibility required to work with clients on occasional evenings and/or weekends. If overtime is required (i.e. outside of normal work hours), time-in-lieu is provided; Local travel (with compensation for mileage) may be required; Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals; Intermittent physical activity including walking, standing, sitting, and lifting.

Job compensation:



Salary range is from $22.92 to $27.03 per hour, depending upon experience and qualifications, with opportunity for performance-based pay increases. Benefits include includes a hybrid work arrangement, paid time off (holidays), remuneration for work-related travel, professional development and training opportunities, and health and dental benefits.
