to join our fabrication team. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, these positions are responsible for the accurate cutting and fabrication of materials for commercial glazing projects. Ideal candidates will have a commitment to safety, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions and read fabrication sheets.
Key Responsibilities
Fabricator - Level 1
Perform basic fabrication tasks as directed by supervisors
Set up and clean up work area before and after completing tasks
Safely use chop saw and hand tools under supervision
Understand basic saw-related fabrication sheets and cut lists
Complete weekly machinery maintenance using provided templates (under supervision)
Identify and report product damage
Follow all safety protocols and complete required documentation
Fabricator - Level 2
Includes all Level 1 responsibilities, plus:
Review materials and consumables required before starting tasks
Maintain task and project documentation
Plan work to maximize material usage and shop productivity
Manage material flow in and out of the saw area
Read and interpret complex fabrication sheets
Ensure materials are packed according to Ferguson standards
Proactively report safety incidents, infractions, or near misses
Participate in Ferguson's safety programs
Assist in ensuring quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) standards are met and documented
Qualifications
Previous experience in a fabrication or shop environment is an asset
Strong understanding of safety procedures and material handling
Comfortable working with power tools and saws
Attention to detail and ability to follow direction
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
