The Lockheed Martin Aeronautic Field Sustainment\'s F-22 Operations Manager position, located at Langley Air Force Base (AFB), Virginia will be the single-point of contact to oversee all F-22 aircraft maintenance and modification contractor support operations. The scope of this position includes directly/indirectly managing a 70+ member workforce that includes Field Service Engineers, an F-22 Modification Team, and an F-22 Low Observable Repair Team.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Directly interface with Lockheed Martin, Boeing Aerospace, and Langley AFB senior leadership for F-22 aircraft sustainment, systems troubleshooting and repairs, on-aircraft modification/low observable production activities and delivery schedules.
  • Lead the Site\'s compliance with on-aircraft Ground Government Flight Representative (GGFR) requirements.
  • The Operations Manager will report to the Langley Site Senior Manager and will lead the Site during their absence.
  • Will have overall responsibility to synchronize and coordinate on-site contractor manpower, funding, and equipment resources to support Follow-On Agile Sustainment for the Raptor (FASTeR) contract support for the 1st Fighter Wing\'s assigned F-22s.
  • Will manage project and support resources in compliance with cost goals and operating budgets, and develop proposals to support evolving requirements.
  • Conduct recruitment and hiring of subordinate team members, maintain the sustained growth of technical and professional competence of subordinate employees, and ensure training requirements are met.
  • Conduct employee performance assessments and salary planning, lead subordinate team recognition and disciplinary actions, and plan/formulate engineering actions to support contractor and client goals.
  • Assign project personnel to specific phases or aspects of aircraft improvement projects, and coordinate activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
  • Lastly, the Operations Manager will ensure team members are ready, equipped, and available to support customer stateside or international deployments. The Operations Manager duties will require limited travel.
  • Must be a United States citizen. Must have a Secret Security Clearance with an investigation within the last 6 years. Must possess, or be able to obtain and maintain F-22 Special Access Program access.

Basic Qualifications

The following Basic Qualifications are skills that a candidate must possess to be considered for this position:
  • Candidate must have a Secret Security Clearance with an investigation within the last 6 years.
  • Experience with USAF products and processes to include F-22 hardware and maintenance, technical orders and technical drawings, at the organizational and intermediate levels.
  • Experience with fighter aircraft maintenance and systems within the last 10 years
  • Experience with fleet management activities and metrics from planned maintenance events to flying schedule execution
  • Demonstrated experience in leading organizational/intermediate-level aircraft maintenance operations and support
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint and specifically Excel)

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
