Our client, a leader in the packaging industry is looking for a talented machine operator to join their operations in Etobicoke.Basic FunctionSetting up and adjusting printing presses and bag machines to meet requirements of producing a quality product meeting specifications.Tasks\xc2\xb7 Accurately fill Production Reports\xc2\xb7 Accurately fill RSI tickets\xc2\xb7 Test the film for gm/meter, colour, gauge and tearing.\xc2\xb7 Fill the Extruder QC Report\xc2\xb7 Operates the resin handling system on all lines\xc2\xb7 Threads up all extruders\xc2\xb7 Replaces the socks on all extruder IBC pipes\xc2\xb7 Cleans IBC pipes\xc2\xb7 Adjust the film layflat on all extruders\xc2\xb7 Adjust temperature settings on the barrel and die\xc2\xb7 Clean die lips of the die\xc2\xb7 Make necessary adjustments to the auto-gauge control\xc2\xb7 Set treater after job change\xc2\xb7 Operates the winder on all extruders\xc2\xb7 Maintains a clean and safe work area.\xc2\xb7 Complies with Company policies and procedures.\xc2\xb7 Performs all other tasks assigned by Management.Principal Responsibilities\xc2\xb7 Maintains a clean and safe working area\xc2\xb7 Direct the work of Helpers by monitoring and checking work\xc2\xb7 Follow safety procedures in the workplace; must attend and participate in all department and Plant safety meetings and training sessions\xc2\xb7 Comply and enforce all company policies and proceduresEducation Requirements\xe2\x98\x91High School Diploma \xe2\x98\x90 Bachelors Degree\xe2\x98\x91 Vocational School or Some College \xe2\x98\x90 Masters Degree\xe2\x98\x90 Associates DegreeWorking ConditionsManufacturing plant\xc2\xb7 12 hour rotating shifts\xc2\xb7 Some overtime is required\xc2\xb7 PPE required steel toe safety shoes, hearing protection, rubber gloves when working, protective gloves when cutting material.\xc2\xb7 Summer month\'s plant can become very warm.\xc2\xb7 Rotating equipment machines have pinch points, hot areas for burns.Physical Effort\xc2\xb7 Moderate lifting, any heavy lifting assistance is provided with hoists or added personnel in the area7am to 7pm - 12 hours shift rotating every 2 weeks - (48 hours week1, 36 hours week2)$1 premium on nights - no premium for weekend.
