What Will You Contribute?

As a

Senior Technical Support Engineer

, you will play a critical role in ensuring Finastra's clients receive timely, expert-level support for our core banking solutions. You'll act as a trusted advisor and problem-solver, working directly with clients to investigate and resolve complex technical issues. This role blends deep technical troubleshooting with strong client communication and collaboration across internal teams. You'll be the go-to expert for our Equation platform and related technologies, helping to maintain high customer satisfaction and system reliability.


Responsibilities & Deliverables:

Act as a subject matter expert for Equation and related applications. Lead root cause analysis and resolution of technical issues across multiple environments. Provide detailed analysis and documentation to development teams for bug fixes or enhancements. Maintain and support existing features/modules, including performance tuning and patching. Participate in solution design reviews, test planning, and code reviews. Work in shifts and be open to occasional travel as needed. Investigating and resolving client-reported issues by replicating scenarios in test environments. Writing and executing scripts, analyzing logs, and documenting findings. Collaborating with development, QA, and product teams to drive resolution of complex problems. Participating in virtual client meetings to provide updates or gather additional context. Maintaining strong client relationships through clear, empathetic communication. Contributing to knowledge base articles and internal documentation for recurring issues.

Required Experience:

Mandatory Technical Capabilities:



Strong hands-on experience with

Equation (Core)

, including: + iSeries operations/navigation
+ CL and RPG programming
+ SQL and MQ/Queue management
Familiarity with

Java

,

IBM WebSphere

,

SOAP/REST APIs

(Postman), and

SQL Server

Experience with

Power BI

and

shared applications

like FRA and Opics is a plus

Mandatory Non-Technical Capabilities:



Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Strong verbal and written communication, especially with external clients Ability to work independently and lead complex issue resolution

Nice-to-Have Skills:



Leadership or mentoring experience Adaptability in fast-paced, cross-functional environments Financial services software development experience

Education & Certifications:



Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, Mathematics, or related field ITIL Foundation Certification (preferred) Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure) or SQL/Java certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Java Programmer)
