Job Summary

As an Expert Program/Project manager, you will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of projects within the Customer Solutions team. You will oversee all aspects of the program/project. You will set deadlines, assign responsibilities, ensures accurate allocation of resources, lead multi-disciplinary teams, and monitor and summarize progress of the program/project. You will build and maintain working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved in the project. You will actively participate in the deployment of project governance, standards & best practices. You will also prepare reports for upper management regarding status of the project. Strong leadership is essential with the ability simultaneously manage multiple mandates.

Main Responsibilities

\xc2\xb7 Responsible for coordination and completion of large scale and complex projects/programs

\xc2\xb7 Identify program/project milestones, critical success factors, risks and resource requirements

\xc2\xb7 Ability to manage budgets and align project deliverables to expected business case benefits

\xc2\xb7 Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis. Collaborate efficiently with partners, clients and vendors to deliver projects according to plan

\xc2\xb7 Ensure all program/project management best practices are applied, following established Project Management methodology, and ensure compliance with, all appropriate CN IT standards (eg. Security, Architecture, Project Delivery Methodology, SOX, etc.)

\xc2\xb7 Lead project teams using waterfall and/or Hybrid Agile methodology and work closely with the Business and Product Owners to optimize waterfall/agile practices within the team.

\xc2\xb7 Ensure project transparency with timely and clear progress updates to senior management. Prepare weekly project status reports, Steering Committee decks, and financial reports, including YEO.

\xc2\xb7 Manage project plan using Microsoft Project Professional Server (PPM)/PWA); Develop the project plan, including the timeline, budget and resource plans. Monitor project progress against project plan and ensure project remains on scope, on time and on budget while ensuring the completeness and quality of all project deliverables (e.g. business requirements, requirements traceability matrix, etc.)

\xc2\xb7 Ensure successful transition of the project deliverables to core support

\xc2\xb7 Negotiate changes in scope, budget or schedule with sponsor and steering committee, and ensure adherence to change management process

\xc2\xb7 Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.

\xc2\xb7 Able to work under pressure, flexible during times of change and reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently, while maintaining business value and respecting project deadlines

\xc2\xb7 Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.

Working Conditions

\xc2\xb7 The role has standard working conditions spread across both an office environment and home office.

\xc2\xb7 Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure, and stress.

\xc2\xb7 This role may require occasional business travel in accordance with CN policy for meetings

Requirements

Education/Certification/Designation

• Bachelor\'s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Commerce, or equivalent
• PMP, PgMP certification, or equivalent
• SCRUM or equivalent Agile methodology certification (an asset)
• CISSP or CICM (an asset)

Skills/Knowledge

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of the train transportation business and related operational and supply chain processes.

. Cybersecurity knowledge - Strong understating of cybersecurity principles, threats and best practices

\xc2\xb7 Comfortable with implementing leading edge technology

\xc2\xb7 Strong capacity to communicate and enforce corrective and preventive actions

\xc2\xb7 Strong capacity to communicate and lead project/ program planning activities

\xc2\xb7 Well-developed communication skills with ability to effectively communicate with senior leaders

\xc2\xb7 Proactive, organized, bilingual, strong interpersonal skills

\xc2\xb7 Expertise on MS Project, MS Excel & Jira

\xc2\xb7 Expertise in project financial management

Experience

\xc2\xb7 Minimum 7-10 years of project/program management experience

\xc2\xb7 Experience in managing Technical, IT or Engineering projects
