Our Client, is searching for their next AVP, Commercial Portfolio Management who will be a natural leader in their Account Specialist Team.

The Opportunity - AVP, Commercial Portfolio Management

Leadership. Credit management. Business growth. Networking. Compliance strategist.

  • Leadership for the Account Specialist team within a specified geographic market, which may include more than one physical location.
  • The role adjudicates loans within Branch discretionary limits and is responsible for ensuring the Branch's credit portfolio remains within credit risk appetite.
  • The role holder is a fully experienced, qualified credit professional, capable of independent activity and leadership of a team. They will implement credit policies conducts credit reviews and ensure that the approval procedures, standards of credit control and portfolio maintenance conform to controls/ procedures established by the credit risk management team for the business.
Foundational knowledge and experience to grow:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in commerce, finance or accounting disciplines with a minimum of 10 years' experience within functions of risk management, banking and/or business lending with direct people and team leadership accountabilitiesCompetencies & capabilities that will take you further:
  • Client focused. Deliver exceptional client experiences at every interaction and execute on plans to continuously build the client experience, in line with institution brand promise.
  • Provide full-service solutions for clients with the view to be every client's primary financial partner.
  • Financially savvy. You've garnered strong credit and commercial lending experience that has allowed you to plan, execute and develop strategies that have resulted in you hitting your, and your team's, targets and business goals out of the financial institution park.
  • Compliance and risk expert. You will manage a variety of tasks from overseeing credit activities to managing operations to ensuring compliance regimens and risk management strategies are put into place.
  • Operationally sound. You're all about seeing your team succeed and reach their achievements and successes. You will provide guidance and mentorship in areas like risk assessment, credit underwriting, credit structuring and credit presentation skills - delivering results effectively and efficiently.
  • Trusted partner. As a fully experienced, qualified credit professional, your day will include managing multiple tasks such as leading your team, implementing credit policies, conducting credit reviews and ensuring that approval procedures are put into place for clients and the client relationship team.
