Experienced Veterinary Receptionist
to cover a
12 month maternity leave
-- otherwise known as Phone Line Jugglers, Greeters and Paw Shakers! You'll love working with us in our fast-paced, client-bond-centered practice.
In this role, you will be the first point of contact for pet owners and their beloved animals, providing exceptional customer service while managing the front desk operations of our veterinary clinic. The ideal candidate is a team player who demonstrates compassion and care to clients, patients, and co-workers alike. You must be able to work independently but also thrive in a collaborative environment. Strong client communication skills and work ethic are essential.
Veterinary experience is required.

Responsibilities
Provide excellent and efficient client experiences
Greet clients and their pets warmly upon arrival at the clinic.
Schedule and confirm appointments for veterinary services.
Manage patient records, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.
Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, procedures, and pet care.
Manage emails and mail correspondence
Process client payments and manage billing inquiries.
Ensure the front desk and client waiting area are clean and welcoming
Educate clients on preventative care, products, and services offered by the clinic.
Handle any client concerns or complaints with professionalism and empathy. Escalate complex situations to the manager as needed.
Candidate Requirements
1+ year veterinary receptionist experience (required)
Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Proactive and Accountable
Familiarity with veterinary terminology and procedures is required.
Intermediate computer skills
Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures or willingness to learn is highly desirable.
Proficient in using office equipment and software for scheduling and record management.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners.
Ability to lift 50 lbs (bona fide requirement)
Available for shifts between 8 AM - 6 PM, Monday to Saturday
This position is a maternity leave contract, with the potential for extension based on performance and clinic needs.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract

Pay: $17.00-$20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
