We are currently looking for an experienced and talented Sushi Chef to join our local sushi restaurant.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cutting, slicing and filleting different types of fish
Prepare sushi and other products including cooking rice, preparation of raw ingredients, sushi rolling, cutting, sorting, and packaging.
Prepare all types of sushi including maki, nigiri and sashimi
Manage food preparation activities
Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure proper cooking, special requests and food allergy considerations are met
Monitor food stock and place orders as needed
Sterilizing all utensils and equipment used in sushi preparation before every use.
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Proven work 2 year experience (preferred) as a Sushi Chef/Sushi Maker
Good knowledge of various sushi types and sushi-rolling techniques
Ability to work both fast and accurately
Sound knowledge of food safety regulations
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Excellent time-management and customer service skills
Food Handler Training and Smart Choices Responsible Service Certificate will be considered a plus
Flexible to work various shifts and weekends
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $14.00-$17.00 per hour
