Join our Sorrentino's Downtown family! We're looking for friendly, professional, part-time servers who love fine dining as much as we do. Our location is just a quick four-minute stroll from the 102 St LRT station and only two minutes from the Churchill Connector. Plus, we're right across the street from the Edmonton Public Library!

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in a warm and friendly manner, creating a welcoming atmosphere
• Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests and ensure timely service
• Anticipate guest needs and provide a proactive service to ensure an enjoyable dining experience
• Be thoroughly familiar with the restaurant's menu, including specials and promotional material
• Have in-depth knowledge of the beverage offerings, including wine, spirits, and beer. Be able to make recommendations and offer drink pairings with meals
• Practice responsible selling and serving of alcohol to patrons at all times
• Accurately input orders into the point of sale (POS) system and manage transactions
• Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper sanitation of utensils and surfaces
• Handle payments accurately, processing cash and credit card transactions
• Ensure Sorrentino's reputation for outstanding customer service, quality of food, and cleanliness standards are upheld at all time
• Act as a liaison between the front-of-house and back-of-house teams to ensure seamless service
• Assist in pre-shift preparation and post-shift cleanup to ensure the restaurant is always ready for guests
• Follow all company policies and procedures, including liquor laws, health codes and operational standards
• Other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

• Must have ProServe certification
• Previous fine-dining restaurant experience is considered an asset
• Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure
• Knowledge of point of sale (POS) system and basic cash handling
• Fluent in English (additional languages are an asset)
• Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required
• A genuine passion for providing excellent customer service

This position also allows for the possibility of working at other Sorrentino's locations when the opportunity arises.
