5+ years of experience

operating machinery in a food manufacturing or similar type of environment.

Mechanical background

or experience working with machinery

Able to troubleshoot

machines and make small adjustments/fixes. Experience working with blowmolding machinery, and/or filling lines is an asset. Ensures strict following of our regulatory requirements and governance. Adheres to company and production policies and procedures. Works to ensure production targets are met while committing to superior quality. Reliable to be counted on for good attendance and punctuality. Willingness to learn and follow direction. Has reliable transportation (bus service may not be available for most shift times). Legally able to work in Canada. Strong English language skills required.

What you do:



Operate filling machines (liquids and/or salt lines), ensuring optimal machine performance. Troubleshoot problems or safety concerns on the line make basic repairs, programming adjustments, etc.; report more complex concerns to the Shift Supervisor. Assist in maintenance of the entire line. Assist in assembling raw materials for the production run and ensure that sufficient materials are available prior to set-up and production run. Ensure that packaging instructions are being followed and that correct raw materials are being used as outlined on each Work Order. Ensure production targets are being met each day. Record reasons for any down time and allotment of lost hours for all personnel involved on the work order. Down time exceeding 15 minutes is to be reported to the Shift Supervisor so that corrective measures or job reassignment can take place without delay. Ensure weight checks, lot number and expiry date are filled out as per weight sheet instruction. Weight checks are performed according to sampling frequency set out by Quality Department. Ensure the accuracy of entries. Ensure Work Orders are turned in when completed. Ensure products are meeting quality standards of our customers. This includes (among other things) tight caps, straight centered labels, accurate weights, correct lot numbers and expiry dates, etc. Ensure cleanliness of production line and general area around the line is maintained (Label Room, Sanitation Room, etc.) at all times and at the end of the shift. This includes seeing that exit aisles are kept clear. Take the garbage, cardboards, etc. outside for disposal. Follow all safety procedures including wearing appropriate safety and hygienic attire. Ensure all SOP's are being followed. Perform line set-ups and product changeovers as required. Perform special tasks such as re-cooping or rework on non-conforming product. Remove and restore production materials to appropriate storage areas at the end of production runs. Complete formulation of products when required. Assist in the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse by sweeping floors, wrapping pallets and palletizing products. Provide support in retrieving and returning of raw materials in the warehouse for storage. Any other duties that may be assigned.
Secondary responsibilities are to maintain production at any workstation on a line. This may include such functions as:

Feeding and ensuring proper spacing of containers onto the line Sealing the containers Packing products Labeling / assisting in label changes Changing tape on taper Moving skids of product into Post-Production Hold Area Making up cartons Changing codes on coder
Physical stamina is required as you will be standing for long stretches of time. Must be able to lift, push/pull 25 lbs.

Pay: $23.00-$27.00 per hour
