Position Summary

We are seeking

experienced

Loss Prevention Officers for part-time positions in a retail environment. This role involves conducting plain clothes surveillance, detecting and

apprehending shoplifters

, and minimizing financial loss due to theft. You will also be responsible for writing detailed incident reports and working collaboratively with store management and local law enforcement.

This is a hands-on role ideal for candidates with a background in Police Foundations, Private Security, or prior experience in retail loss prevention.

Ideal Candidate

To be considered for this part-time role, candidates must have prior experience conducting apprehensions in a retail setting. You should be:

Confident and professional in executing physical apprehensions Highly observant and detail-oriented Able to work independently with integrity Skilled in communicating with law enforcement, store staff, and the public Discreet, respectful, and committed to safety

Key Responsibilities

Conduct plain clothes surveillance to detect and apprehend shoplifters Minimize financial loss related to theft and fraud Write detailed apprehension and prevention reports Follow company and client policies and procedures Collaborate with store management and law enforcement as needed

Requirements

Valid

Ontario Security Guard Licence (required)

Demonstrated experience in retail apprehensions Basic understanding of the

Criminal Code of Canada

,

Trespass to Property Act

, and

Powers of Arrest

Ability to communicate effectively with first responders, staff, and management Availability to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Proficiency in English (written and verbal) Willingness to travel up to

Pay: $18.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 24 per week
