Job Description

Private independent Pharmacy in Port Hope looking for two full time pharmacy technician. Minimum 1 year pharmacy dispensing and data entry experience required. Great work environment and family friendly working hours. No late night and very short weekend hours.

Assisting the Pharmacist/Pharmacy Technician with the preparation, packaging and distribution of patient prescriptions Inputting all prescriptions, labels and consent forms to ensure patient information is up to date Taking appropriate action(s) to prevent and reduce medication errors and medication discrepancies and implement measures to prevent recurrence Performing cash management duties, including processing customers through the till and cash-out duties per SOP's, if applicable Ensuring deliveries are processed in an accurate and timely fashion and ensure proper documentation is maintained Ensuring all patient inquiries regarding prescriptions and non-prescriptions medications, uses, treatments, and recommendations are referred to the pharmacist on duty Maintaining efficient flow of merchandise from receiving to the dispensary Monitoring inventory levels and identify approaching and critical expiration dates Controlling cash, cheques, etc, in accordance with cash handling policies and procedures Performing the necessary cash register functions on the POS terminal in accordance with SOPs Complying with all health and safety requirements Maintaining confidentiality in all matters Performing other duties as assigned
Other duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacist on-duty
