About Us

Thorn Security is a locally owned and operated security, electrical, and fire alarm company serving Greater Victoria and the Gulf Islands. We specialize in commercial and residential fire alarm systems, security, access control, and emergency lighting, with a focus on quality service and long-term relationships.

Responsibilities

Perform installation, troubleshooting, service, and verification of fire alarm systems (conventional and addressable) Conduct ULC inspections and deficiency corrections Complete documentation and verification reports accurately Coordinate with clients, site supervisors, and other trades Maintain compliance with applicable codes and standards (CAN/ULC-S524, S536, S537) Support junior technicians and apprentices Participate in on-call rotation (as applicable)

Qualifications

Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on fire alarm experience CFAA certification (required or eligible for registration) Strong knowledge of EST, Mircom, Notifier, or Edwards systems Understanding of CAN/ULC-S standards Valid driver's license and clean abstract Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills Electrical background or TQ an asset

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly wage:

$38-$48/hr
